Taylor Velasquez is 18 years old and comes from a small town of Turpin, OK. Taylor is a second generation driver.
His father Joe Velasquez raced street stocks 9 years in the local divisions. Growing up Taylor has set his sights onmaking it to the top in sprint car racing. Taylor has 21 career Junior Sprint victories, and 5 305 sprint victories. Taylor
is working on moving up to the 360 sprint class. At the beginning of the 2009 season Taylor had his first start in a NCRA A main feature starting 15th. Making his way up to 6th place a car spun in front of Taylor. The two cars collidedsending Taylor for a wild ride. Taylor did walk away but with a broken wrist.Taylor definately turned some heads that nightafter running double duty in 305's & 360's, also winning the 305 A main feature that night. After Taylor had surgery on his broken wrist he was told he would be out for 6-7 weeks. 2 weeks went by and Taylor was ready to cut the castĀ off and jump back into the car. After being in full arm cast forĀ 3 weeks the doctor cut Taylor's cast down from his bicep to his forearm. Two days after the cast was cut down Taylor got his 2nd feature win of the 2009 season. Taylor plans to run some more 360 races in Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma later this year. Taylor is a young driver who's not afraid to drop the hammer and put it to the edge. He just needs the opportunity to prove he can do it.
